BayWest Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented healthcare professional to join our multidisciplinary team in a dual role as a Lab Technician and Triage Room Staff Member.
About the Role:
This is a full-time/part-time, in-clinic position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both hands-on clinical work and patient interaction. The successful candidate will provide essential support in our triage and procedure rooms and be responsible for performing phlebotomy and basic laboratory functions.
Key Responsibilities:

Lab Technician Duties:

• Perform venipuncture for blood collection
• Label, store, and prepare specimens for transport to laboratories
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in lab spaces
• Monitor inventory and ensure adequate supplies for lab procedures

Triage Room Duties:

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Take vital signs and collect relevant medical history
• Assist physicians with minor procedures and wound care
• Maintain proper documentation in EMRs
• Ensure triage and procedure areas are clean, organized, and stocked

Qualifications:

• Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician certification or equivalent
• Phlebotomy training and experience required
• Experience in a primary care or walk-in clinic setting preferred
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
