About the job:
The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory activities including maintenance and operational tasks. The role will require the ability to conduct and support in vitro experiments designed by the Lab Scientists. We provide a fast-paced and dynamic working environment. The ideal candidate is an agile, highly motivated individual willing to learn new techniques, open to new ideas and facilitates an attitude of openness.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintenance of the the mammalian cell culture and bacterial culture laboratories
• Ordering and stock management
• Documentation
• Managing the collection and delivery of hazardous wastes
• Preparation of buffers and reagents
• Supporting laboratory activities proactively
• Propagation, transfection and pharmacological treatment of mammalian cell lines
• Cell viability measurements and other biological assays

About you:

• Education in biology or relevant fields (Bachelor’s in biology, biochemical engineering or equivalent)
• Experience working in a sterile biological facility and mammalian cell culturing
• Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Intermediate level English proficiency (written and spoken)
• Good time management
• Team-working ability
• Problem solving capability
• Hands-on experience in bacterial culture, plasmid amplification and purification is advantageous
• Hands-on experience in Western blot is advantageous
