JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Technologist with a focus on phlebotomy to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong emphasis on blood collection and handling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Certification as a phlebotomist is highly desirable (e.g., ASCP, NPA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience, with a strong emphasis on phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Proficient in using laboratory equipment and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on patient care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Perform venipunctures and capillary collections for laboratory testing, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and specimen collection, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols and confidentiality standards.
  • Prepare and label specimens for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage according to laboratory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel and healthcare providers to communicate important patient information and ensure the timely processing of specimens.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities, including routine maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy and laboratory technology.
  • Use Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and other software to manage patient data and laboratory results efficiently.
