Description Summary The Label Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining label printing presses to produce high-quality labels according to customer specifications and company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate flexographic, or rotary label printing presses. Read and interpret job tickets and specifications to determine press setup and production requirements. Monitor press operations to ensure quality and consistency throughout the run. Mix inks, install printing plates or cylinders, and adjust press settings such as tension, color registration, and speed. Perform quality checks on printed labels for alignment, color accuracy, clarity, and defects. Troubleshoot and resolve press issues including jams, misfeeds, or color inconsistencies. Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment and ensure cleanliness and safety of the work area. Complete production logs and report output, downtime, and quality issues. Collaborate with team members including quality control, finishing, and shipping to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Requirements Qualifications Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language Ability to effectively and safely operate forklift, pallet jack, computer, computer mouse, printer, marking machine with foot pedals High school diploma or GED required 1–3 years of experience operating label printing presses (e.g., Mark Andy, Nilpeter, HP Indigo, etc.) preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to distinguish color variations and read fine print. Familiarity with different substrates, inks, and finishing techniques (e.g., die-cutting, laminating). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods. Basic computer and math skills. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions Physical Work/Environment Requirements Work is performed in an office environment (constant 67-100%) and requires seldom (0-10%) movement into a warehouse environment.
