Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care and support to pregnant women during labor and childbirth. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe delivery of babies and the well-being of both mother and child.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor the progress of labor and vital signs of the mother and baby
  • Administer medications and pain relief as needed
  • Assist with labor induction and augmentation
  • Coach and support mothers through the birthing process
  • Perform assessments and provide postpartum care
  • Educate new parents on infant care and breastfeeding
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid RN license
  • BSN preferred
  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) or Labor and Delivery (NCC) preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of childbirth techniques and medical protocols
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
