Position Type: Contract- SRT
Work Schedule: 36 hrs per week for 12 weeks- 7a-7p and One 12hr call shift required per 6 week schedule.
Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, and effective professional nursing care.

  • Providing direct and indirect patient care in accordance with nursing standards and protocols
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare needs for assigned patients
  • Delivering care to patients across the lifespan—from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise specified
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet unit and hospital goals
  • Maintaining a patient- and customer-focused approach
  • Ensuring care aligns with established practice standards and unit guidelines
  • Willingness to float to other comparable nursing units as needed
  • Strong understanding of general nursing theories and practices
  • Prior hospital experience preferred
  • Ability to motivate and supervise others when needed
  • Uses initiative and independent judgment within the nursing scope of practice
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and strong judgment in complex situations
  • Understands the impact of medication/treatment errors and works with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises tact and diplomacy when working with physicians, patients, families, and staff
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion in all patient interactions
  • Able to work irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays, based on staffing needs
  • Capable of assuming the Charge Nurse role when requested

Education & Certifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
  • One year of RN experience in a related field and/or a BSN degree preferred
  • Completion of nursing service orientation program
  • Attends IV Therapy training and/or demonstrates IV competency within one year
  • Annual participation in Skills Fair and completion of hospital competency checklists
  • Maintains department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Current BLS certification required at hire
  • ACLS certification – must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • NRP certification – must be obtained within 60 days of hire
