City/State: Yonkers, New York Grant Funded: No Department: Office Of The VP HR EMP Lab REL Work Shift: Day Work Days: MON-FRI Scheduled Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 7.5 HOURS Pay Range: $168,000.00-$210,000.00 Job Summary Montefiore is seeking a Labor Counsel to represent Montefiore and assist with the administration of collective bargaining agreements. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in labor relations, including extensive experience in handling arbitrations and responding to labor charges. The candidate will be well-versed in local, state, and federal employment and labor laws. Must have the ability to work independently, establish and maintain working relationships, and interpret complex rules, contracts, arbitration awards, and other official mandates. Essential Functions Providing advice regarding administration of collective bargaining agreements Negotiating and/or providing legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements Handling labor arbitrations (including arbitration preparation and hearing) Must have first-chair experience in arbitration hearings, including appearing before an arbitrator, interviewing witnesses, and serving as lead counsel at arbitration hearings Responding to charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Handling unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB Representing management in NLRB elections Investigating and researching labor-related matters, grievances, and related issues Interpreting and providing advice regarding administration of collective bargaining agreements, rules, and policies Drafting and conducting trainings Qualifications JD required 4–6 years of labor and employment law experience preferred Law degree Demonstrated experience as first chair in arbitration hearings and direct involvement in NLRB matters Montefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
