We are seeking a Labor Relations Student, for our BC Region district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4-12 months starting in January 2025. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the Workforce Supervisor.
Here’s how a Labor Relations Student for our BC Region office contributes to our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to multitask in a fast pace environment.
    Pay Range: $19.35 - $24.00
    PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with recruitment processes for available job opportunities.
  • Reviews technical qualifications with various provincial apprenticeship boards and other certificate issuing authorities.
  • Support with employee matters involving unionized workforce.
  • Verify data in collective agreements and associated documents prior to publication.
  • Coordinates safety training for new hires as per job requirements.
  • Works with team to understand labor standard requirements for workers on site.
  • Assists with various department administration tasks when necessary.
