Description

At Saputo, we bring good to the table by making high-quality products, investing in our people, and supporting communities around the world . As a top 10 global dairy processor, we value contributions that matter and strive to foster an inclusive, growth-driven work environment. Ready to bring your best?
This position is one with responsibilities that will truly make a difference, ensuring the quality of our key products being produced at our Davidstow plant. This is achieved by working across both chemistry and microbiology labs to drive tests for products ranging from whey (for infant formula) to cheese.
Whereas with some labs you might be working with a small remit, here, we’ll be supporting your training and development to work across all areas – gaining exposure to HPLC testing, IPC, wet chemistry and moisture testing.
In addition, you’ll be working across sampling and ensuring the equipment across the three production areas is accurately calibrated, along with production staff.
Do you have a background in chemistry? We’ll give you the opportunity to gain microbiology experience – and vice versa, within a CLAS accredited environment.
In time, you will be working autonomously, helping to identify corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities to help with standards.
This is a 3-on/3-off work pattern from 7am-7pm (with one shift a month from 11.30am-11.30pm)
SDUK’s brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly, Wensleydale, and Sheese), functional ingredients and dairy free products.

Responsibilities
  • Experienced working within a UKAS and/or CLAS accredited lab.
  • Educated to a degree level within chemistry, microbiology, or related food science disciplines.
  • Experienced with HPLC and/or ICP testing (but this is not a prerequisite).
  • Able to work without direct supervision.
