We’re searching for an entry-level Laboratory Analyst I to support our Organics team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll be actively engaged in daily laboratory operations, supporting critical testing through sample preparation, analytical testing, and accurate documentation within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You’ll work hands-on with laboratory instrumentation, contribute to quality and compliance initiatives, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized laboratory environment. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen technical expertise, collaborate with an experienced team, and directly contribute to reliable, high-quality results that support essential laboratory operations. Please note: This position works our second shift schedule Monday - Friday from 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM EST. What You’ll Do Perform sample preparation, analytical testing, and data entry in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality standards Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, performing routine calibration, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance Accurately document and review results within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or designated systems Support the laboratory’s quality system by following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), assisting with audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Adhere to safety and compliance protocols to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment Assist with general laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and cross-training as needed Perform other duties as assigned Requirements What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related area; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree Professional laboratory experience strongly preferred, including hands-on use of laboratory instrumentation, standardized analytical methods, and analytical data interpretation Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Ability to manage and process high volumes of samples efficiently; Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting What You’ll Need to Succeed Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where accuracy and speed matter every day Sharp attention to detail with disciplined execution in structured, process-driven work Proven ability to multitask, task-switch quickly, and manage competing priorities without losing momentum or quality Strong personal organization and workflow control to stay efficient and on pace throughout the shift Fast-learning mindset with the ability to quickly master new systems, processes, and procedural requirements Strong problem-solving instincts with the ability to spot discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and take action in real time Ability to maintain composure under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through Clear, effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with a high-throughput team What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule & Travel Full-time, onsite position Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as operational needs require Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
