Job Description Job Title: Apprentice Laboratory Technician Job Type: Permanent Location: Middlesbrough Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm Salary: £16,575 Industry: Natural Resources, Oil and Gas We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Laboratory Technician to join our Oil & Gas laboratory team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying for a nationally recognised Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship qualification. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyse samples of crude oil, fuels, lubricants and gases. Perform routine and specialist laboratory tests under supervision. Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments. Accurately record, interpret and report test data. Work to SGS and industry standards, including ISO 17025, health & safety and environmental regulations. Support senior technicians and contribute to continuous improvement in lab operations. Qualifications What We’re Looking For Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science. A keen interest in science, technology and the energy industry. Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills. A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
