The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for ordering, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens; Review of pending reports, manifests, etc. for outstanding lab results; assisting other lab personnel with specimen storage and retrieval, ensuring Turn Around Times (TATs) are met; and maintaining inventory for phlebotomy services, reference lab supplies, and departmental office supplies.  * Performs phlebotomy duties.   * Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.   * Maintains adequate stock of supplies.   * Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.   * Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing.   * Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.    What we are looking for:   * High School Diploma or GED Required  * 1-3 years of previous experience in phlebotomy preferred  * Phlebotomy Certification Preferred    EEOC Statement:  Jackson Purchase Medical Center is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunities for all applicants and employees and complies with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment because of color, race, sex, age, religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, gender identity, sexual orientation, veterans' status or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.  Lifepoint Health is a leader in community-based care and driven by a mission of Making Communities Healthier.
