The Role: The ALS Geochemistry Division in Stafford, Brisbane are seeking a full time Laboratory Assistant to join a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time. The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role. This role will work on a 6-week rotating roster across a variety of different shifts. The day to day: Performing a range of digestions such as aqua regia and four-acid, using dangerous chemicals such as hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and perchloric acid. Calibration of equipment. General housekeeping including but not limited to: Cleaning laboratory equipment Assisting in testing of reagents General Laboratory duties when required. About you To be successful in this role you will: Be a team player who enjoys working within a group environment. Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure. Possess excellent organisational and time management skills. Have excellent communication skills. Have great attention to detail. Be willing and able to work a rotating day/afternoon/night shift pattern. Be willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
