Performs accurate and appropriate collection of specimens for Laboratory analysis, following established protocols and procedures. Follows all established procedures for Laboratory quality assurance and quality control, reports discrepancies to Director or designee. May assist in performing maintenance on analyzers or other Lab equipment as appropriate. May assist in performing analyzer calibrations. May assist in performing other Laboratory functions and tasks necessary for patient testing. Performs EKGs and maintenance on EKG machine as needed. Follows the hospital exposure control, bloodborne and airborne pathogen plans. Follows all HIPAA guidelines, promotes and ensures patient safety. Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment. Special projects and other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Requirements Education and/or Experience High school diploma required Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience in clinical Lab setting preferred Licensure/Certification Phlebotomy certification preferred Basic Life Support (CPR) required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities
