Job Description
The Laboratory Assistant is an entry-level position to learn basic laboratory technician skills. May also provide non-technical support services to other laboratory personnel.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with general knowledge of scientific fiel

Ability / Skills:

  • General knowledge of Chemistry and/or General Science
  • Mathematics
  • Communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Quick learner
  • Work within time constraint

Responsibilities
  • Assists Laboratory Technicians in preparation of samples for analysis.
  • Collects and prepares materials and supplies for laboratory.
  • Prepares routine forms and reports.
  • May assist technicians in conducting routine analyses.
  • Assists other laboratory areas as needed.
  • Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stocks laboratory supplies.
