Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, provide general laboratory support in a specialized analytical chemistry environment. Responsible for routine preparation and analysis of biological samples for quantitative analysis using sophisticated instrumentation including gas and liquid mass spectrometers and tandem mass spectrometers.
Provide training and oversight to students and colleagues with respect to sample handling, preparation and data analysis. Perform routine assessment of instrument performance and simple preventative maintenance of advanced instrumentation under the guidance of the principal investigator.
Responsible for the enhancement of data management and quality assurance spreadsheets through the implementation of simple applications. Aid in the general maintenance of the laboratory by following appropriate safety protocols, logging incoming samples into the laboratory records, and supporting the maintenance of a clean working environment, prioritization of efforts will be made by the supervisor.
