The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support our laboratory team on a 12-month max-term contract (parental leave cover). This is a hands‐on role where you'll play a critical part in sample testing, data management, quality assurance processes and overall laboratory operations.

Working closely with the Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Manager, you'll support testing and analysis for a wide range of materials across our plastics, glass, landfill and organics businesses.

What you'll be doing

Accurately log, track and manage samples within the Laboratory Information Management System.

Conduct routine laboratory testing and analysis across plastics, glass, landfill and organics samples.

Support QA/QC processes to ensure reliable, compliant and high-quality results.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and enter test data into management systems.

Assist with sample preparation, handling and general laboratory operations.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment in line with housekeeping standards.

Provide administrative support, including answering enquiries and supporting the wider laboratory team.

About You

Prior experience in a laboratory testing, analytical or quality-focused environment.

Experience using laboratory management systems (LIMS) and maintaining accurate data records.

Exposure to ICP testing highly regarded, with FTIR experience desirable.

Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
