Job Description We’re looking for a FIFO Laboratory Assistant to join our relief pool based in Perth. In this role, you’ll support different onsite laboratories as needed, helping keep day-to-day testing running smoothly. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and being part of a team. You’ll be comfortable working in a laboratory environment, following clear procedures, and maintaining accuracy while handling samples. Responsibilites include however, are not limited to: Loading, unloading, sorting and weighing samples onto drying racks Making sure samples stay in the correct numerical order at all times Analysing mineral samples using laboratory equipment such as ICP, XRF and AAS Checking incoming samples against submission forms and recording any missing or extra samples Milling samples and transferring sub-samples into packets, following quality and contamination control procedures Assisting with screening, crushing and other laboratory tasks as required Qualifications We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-focused and a good team player, with: Previous experience working in a minerals or analytical laboratory Good organisational skills and the ability to manage repetitive tasks accurately Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when needed A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to work across different sites The ability to work safely and follow laboratory procedures at all times Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
