Rocky Ridge Brewing Company is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Jindong Brewery.

This is a hands-on role supporting the quality, consistency and safety of our beer throughout the brewing and packaging process.

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Safety, you'll be involved across laboratory analysis, quality assurance, yeast propagation, equipment calibration, sample management and our sensory program.

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated, with a sharp eye for detail and a genuine willingness to learn.

Previous laboratory experience or a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills will be highly regarded, but it's not essential. For us, attitude, accuracy and work ethic are just as important.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

Laboratory Analysis

• Alcohol content testing
• PCR testing, including running samples and enrichments
• Retention sample testing and management of the stock sample library
• Fermentation monitoring and checks
• Yeast propagation
• Assisting with water treatment plant monitoring
• Managing laboratory glassware and associated equipment

Quality Assurance

• Bright Beer Tank (BBT) clearance prior to packaging
• Reviewing fermentation data
• PCR sampling
• Preparation of laboratory standards
• Laboratory quality control checks
• Assisting with brewery and production quality inspections

Equipment & Laboratory Management

• Maintenance and calibration of CBox, pH meters and density meters
• Monitoring laboratory consumable stock levels
• Ordering regularly used laboratory supplies
• Maintaining an organised, clean and safe laboratory environment
