Description Laboratory Assistant Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Roseville, MN About This Role: Tareen Dermatology is excited to announce the new position of a Laboratory Assistant to work within our state-of-the-art histology laboratory. This newly created position reflects our commitment to advancing dermatologic care through innovation, precision, and excellence in laboratory science. The Laboratory Assistant will work alongside histology staff to process samples in compliance withe procedures and policies. Tareen Dermatology expects. high degree of accuracy and reliability to ensure results that can assist in the timely diagnosis and treatment of our patients. Requirements: Education & Experience: High school diploma required Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work closely with others and possess solid interpersonal and communication skills Basic computer knowledge. Must possess fine manual dexterity. Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and have excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently, accountable and responsible. Ability to handle the stress of producing accurate results under time constraints Ability to accommodate schedule adjustments. Must follow compliance rules and regulations against fraud and abuse. Must follow Tareen Dermatology policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities: Coordinates and prioritizes workflow to ensure timely testing. Participates in CLIA survey readiness activities. Recommends process improvements. Performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment or instruments. Participates in all relevant quality assurance (QA) activities, including reporting sources of error. Assists with supply inventory. Attends and participates in department and other relevant meetings. Receive and accession specimens by labeling requisitions, specimen containers, and cassettes. Organizes and prepares send outs. Assists histology lab as needed. Slide filing, block filing, case assembly and maintenance. Answers telephones and relays information appropriately. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with policies. Monitor quality control and proper maintenance of all equipment and instruments. Comply with HIPAA Regulations Comply with OSHA rules, safety standards and regulations. All other duties as assigned. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: This role is performed in a clinical setting and may involve extended periods of computer-based work. The position requires the ability to sit for the majority of the workday, with occasional standing and walking. Employees may also need to use their hands to handle equipment or documents and reach with hands and arms as part of normal job duties. The ability to communicate effectively, observe details at close and moderate distances, and maintain focus on computer-based tasks is required. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
