The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme’s history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications within Engineering, Geology, or a relevant Geoscience field.
  • White Card

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8 years of construction Geological / Engineering experience including soil and groundwater sampling and contractor oversight during drilling activities.
  • Exposure working on a major civil infrastructure project of comparable size and complexity to the Snowy 2.0 project.
  • Extensive experience in the development and implementation of Geological management systems and plans.
  • Experience working within a Technical or Design department, assisting in Design, Planning and support the construction / production teams against required criteria
  • Experience in Geotechnical approvals process, ideally gained within civil construction and preferably in NSW
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The laboratory assistant works with senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyse results, and report on data findings.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The lab assistant will also be responsible for compiling data, transferring notes and recordings, and labelling, organizing, and maintaining samples
  • Take notes, record data, and results, and organize documentation
  • Transfer data and results from notes and records to computer formats
  • Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens
  • Identify and label samples
  • Prepare equipment and workspace
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed
  • Compile research and information needed for study
  • Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results
  • Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor
  • Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies
  • Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace
  • Research industry trends and advancement
  • Assists all senior laboratory staff and leadership with additional duties as needed
