Description

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Laboratory Business Development & Client Manager to join our team based in Baulkham Hills. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this role is responsible for managing and growing the laboratory’s customer base while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work independently and in collaboration with the Lab Manager and Lab Services Manager to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and deliver on operational targets.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations within the construction materials industry
  • Proven customer relationship management skills with a strong client focus
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, quoting, and reporting
  • NATA signatory status for a range of construction material tests (highly regarded)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in science, civil engineering, chemical engineering, or materials (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure
  • Knowledge of Australian and industry standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage key accounts and act as the primary point of contact for laboratory customers
  • Drive business development by identifying and securing new opportunities
  • Collaborate on growth strategies for the laboratory and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Set and monitor sample turnaround times to achieve monthly budget targets
  • Prepare and report on monthly customer metrics for the Laboratory Manager
  • Review and issue laboratory reports to clients with accuracy and timeliness
  • Develop and issue quotes for new work, ensuring competitive and commercially sound pricing
  • Resolve customer issues promptly while identifying opportunities for service enhancement
