THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, high-performing team based at Port Melbourne for this Tuesday to Saturday permanent position.
Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and Cream Cheese. VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager , this critical role is responsible for providing service and technical support in all areas of product and material analysis, including analyses of finished goods, raw materials, environmental surveys, and equipment calibration. This is a great opportunity to get experience across all those areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing general microbiological testing using techniques such as Petri-film, spread plate, pour plate, spore testing, MPNs and membrane filtration.
  • Specialised microbiological tests as well as performing pathogen analyses.
  • Ensuring the timely online data entry for all sampling and testing results into LIMS.
  • Perform, report, and follow up on lab equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Reading, confirmation, and reporting on analyses completed.
