ABOUT US

We are one of the world’s leading research centres for the study of prions and their wider relevance to neurodegenerative disease with a growing research activity in Alzheimer’s disease (www.prion.ucl.ac.uk).
The Institute is highly multidisciplinary with close integration of structural and molecular biology, genetics, cellular and animal models, small molecule and immuno-therapeutics and clinical research.
MRC and UCL have jointly invested £30 million in provision of a dedicated new building in central London for the Institute supporting the vision to expand research in protein misfolding and aggregation in neurodegenerative disease.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Management Assistant to join our team. In collaboration with the Deputy Laboratory and Health and Safety Manager the post-holder will ensure core laboratory services are maintained and that health and safety and estates issues are reported and followed up. They will coordinate the institute’s core laboratory equipment service contracts and engineer visits, and organise supplies of laboratory consumables. They will be required to promote laboratory safety procedures and ensure laboratory areas are maintained in accordance with local policies and national legislation.

This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2028, in the first instance. The role is based on-site.
