Orleans Community Health Medina Hospital is seeking a Full Time Laboratory Manager to join our team located at Medina Memorial Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in laboratory techniques and management, ensuring that all laboratory procedures comply with industry standards. This role involves leading a team of technicians and processors, managing projects, and maintaining the integrity of data collection processes in alignment with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Laboratory Operations will coordinate the department activities as a whole, providing supervision to all Laboratory staff and assists with the oversight and quality markers of all laboratory equipment following New York State Department of Health requirements. Management of 1 Lab Supervisor, 6 Medical Technologists and 4 Phlebotomists. Major areas of the lab include blood bank, serology, coagulation, mirco, chemistry, UA. Tests that are not done in-house are all pathology specimens, cultures, hormone assays, genetic testing, antibody testing and specialized microbiology testing.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold current New York State MT license from the Department of Education
• Six years-experience in all major areas of the laboratory.
• Previous Supervisor or Senior/Lead Technologist experience highly preferred.
• One of the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology plus completion of an internship program in a Medical
• Technology program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the biological or chemical/physical sciences plus year of pertinent clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP/CLS certification.
