Job Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Laboratory Manager to lead laboratory operations with this FIFO role and join onsite Geochemical laborites and ensure the delivery of high-quality analytical services. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include, however, are not limited to: Lead, mentor, and develop laboratory staff, maintaining appropriate staffing levels Encourage continuous improvement and skills development across the team Liaise with clients regarding sample analysis requirements and technical queries Prepare and deliver monthly reports to clients and senior management Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure non-conformances are recorded, investigated, and closed out in a timely manner Oversee sample preparation and analytical processes Manage laboratory budgets and maintain responsibility for P&L performance Maintain accurate staff training records and compliance documentation Qualifications the ideal candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience Demonstrated experience in laboratory management or supervision Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems Experience using CCLAS LIMS Technical experience with: ICP-OES and ICP-MS Peroxide fusion and lithium metaborate fusion Sample preparation techniques Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
