That’s why we are looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to provide strategic leadership for our Clinical Chemistry and Medical Microbiology departments. Your Role As Laboratory Manager, region west, you will be responsible for strategically managing, positioning, and developing laboratories, consisting of a central laboratory in Amsterdam and several decentralized hospital laboratories located in de region of Amsterdam (approx. 150 FTE). You will translate organizational objectives into a future-proof laboratory strategy and ensure optimal quality, compliance, and innovation. You will lead department heads and professionals, monitor budgets, and work within a team that values close collaboration, open communication, and strong connections. What Will You Do? · Develop and implement the multi-year strategy for Clinical Chemistry and Medical Microbiology. · Ensure quality and accreditations (ISO 15189, MDR/IVD-R) and compliance with laws and regulations. · Capacity planning and financial management, including investment proposals. · Lead teams, foster talent development, and drive change management. Create an environment where people empower and support each other. · Initiate innovation projects and digitalization (GLIMS, automation, data analysis). · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (clinical chemistry, biomedical sciences, life sciences) or equivalent. · At least 7–10 years of experience in a laboratory environment, including 5 years in a leadership role. · Knowledge of quality standards (including ISO 15189), compliance, and risk management. · Strong leadership skills, ability to collaborate, proactive attitude, and capability to give and receive constructive feedback. · Experience with innovation, digitalization, and process optimization.
