A leading materials testing laboratory based in Ledbury is seeking a Lab Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day laboratory services, driving business growth and ensuring technical excellence. This is a key leadership role, focused on managing operations, enhancing quality standards, and expanding external testing revenue.

LABORATORY OPERATIONS MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education & Expertise:


    • Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Engineering (preferred).

    • Strong background in metals/materials testing.
    • Experience in the aerospace or metals production industry is beneficial.
    • Leadership & Commercial Acumen:


      • Proven experience managing a large technical team.

      • Ability to balance technical oversight with commercial strategy.
      • Strong problem-solving skills, able to provide clear solutions in a fast-paced environment.
      • Industry & Quality Standards:


        • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap accreditation.

        • Understanding of Ni alloys or other major alloy systems is a plus.
        Responsibilities
        • Business Growth & Revenue:


          • Own and drive revenue targets for IncoTest’s external testing services.

          • Identify opportunities to expand external revenue streams.
          • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
          • Laboratory Operations & Quality:


            • Take overall responsibility for the laboratory’s technical operations.

            • Implement and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap Materials Testing standards.
            • Continuously improve services for internal and external customers.
            • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:


              • Lead and manage a diverse technical team.

              • Work closely with senior leadership, including the Technical Director, Head of Quality, and Operations Director.
              • Engage with accreditation bodies and key industry partners.
