Description:
The Materials Innovation Factory (MIF) is a flagship strategic research facility built on world-class knowledge leadership in Materials Chemistry, Lab Automation and Digital Chemistry, with the vision to transform how Chemistry is done and accelerate material discovery. A portfolio of £15M of formulation and analytical equipment is made accessible to academic and industrial users of the MIF, which is supported by a dedicated technical team.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to ensure first class technical services and operational excellence are delivered for academic and commercial users of the shared laboratories.
Reporting to the Head of MIF Technical Operations and Faculty Research Facilities, the Laboratory Operations Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of the customer-oriented multi-user laboratories and line management of the MIF Technical Team.
We seek someone with experience of managing large technical teams in a customer facing environment, with a track record of delivering continuous improvement within a laboratory setting. You will possess strong leadership skills, work in an organised manner with attention to detail, and be an excellent communicator, with experience of developing strong professional relationships at all levels within an organisation and externally.
You should have a degree or equivalent qualification, and relevant professional experience.
This is a permanent full-time post.
