Job Description Reporting Line Junior / Operations Executives and/or Technical Operations Manager Primary Responsibilities Responsible in performing analyses as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory test and Analyses and reporting test results according to the Quality Management System policies and procedures. Also responsible for troubleshooting technical-related problems and coaching lab analysts (LA) I and II, lab technicians and lab aides. Assists Junior / Operations Executive in overseeing the day-to-day operations of his / her assigned section. Specific Responsibilities Review samples against Request for Analysis and/or claim stub and/or other information for routine test (including but not limited to sample size, method, availability of reagents/equipment for testing/TAT) when designated by the supervisor Review new procedures when designated by the supervisor. Coordinates with clients/affiliates on matters related to test requests when designated by the supervisor Review samples against Request for Analysis and/or claim and/or other information for special or non-routine tests. Performs sampling, testing and analyses as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and Analyses and in accordance with the QMS and Safety Policies defined in the Safety Manual. Performs preparation of reagents and test solutions and standardization of volumetric solutions in accordance with the standard test methods Participates in various proficiency / correlation programs. Performs witnessing of analyses and/or auditing tasks. Conducts special tests such as client-supplied procedure and substantiating advertising claims Conducts method validation. Provides input on method improvement. Develops analytical methods not traditionally done in the laboratory Operates and maintains equipment used in performing analyses. Conducts troubleshooting on equipment being used. Recommend or devise corrective actions for instrumentation procedures Reads, understands, and follows proper standard operating procedures Responsible for evaluating and interpreting standard laboratory test results including statistical quality control charts and uncertainty of measurements Conducts troubleshooting of technical-related problems and suggests alternative solutions. Participates in the evaluation of PT performance and provides inputs to improve the performance in the next rounds Prepares uncertainty of measurement worksheets of special and non-routine tests Conducts troubleshooting of technical-related problems, suggests concrete steps to address technical problems Evaluation of performance including trend analysis and recommends improvement processes/techniques and coaches LA I, II, lab technicians and lab aides for the improvement of technique. Review and evaluation of uncertainty measurements; evaluation and recommendation on MU concerns. Prepares and updates reports related to the analyses performed including statistical quality control charts. Signs worksheets and job instructions. Maintains routine documentation, including worksheets, log sheet entries, sample documentations, etc. Records data precisely and accurately. Check, evaluate and sign worksheets, draft reports and test reports in the absence of immediate supervisor or when designated by the supervisor. Responsible for providing preliminary reports on reviews, review data prepared by lower level staff, reviews literature on technical issues and prepares reports on special projects Approved signatory of test reports Validates, releases, and signs test reports Validates results registered in Laboratory Information management system Coaches LA I, II, lab technicians, lab aides and OJTs on the performance of test, analyses, and sample preparation. Trains and checks capabilities of assigned LA I, II, lab technicians, and lab aide. Assists in overseeing laboratory tests being done in his / her section and in reviewing analytical results with concerned analysts. Corrects the performance of LA I, II, lab technicians and lab aide as to certain techniques, procedures and other technical concerns as a form of assistance to the supervisor. Participates in the training and evaluation of lower level staff, participates in the monitoring of employee performance and assist in the preparation of employee performance review. Conducts training/awareness session for internal staff and clients. Ensures that work area and assigned laboratory equipment are clean, safe and secured in accordance with company safety manual and QMS.
