Laboratory Supervisor – Bradenton, FL Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Days (Rotating Weekends Required) Pay Range: $32.62 – $48.93/hour (based on experience) Overview A healthcare laboratory services organization in the Bradenton area is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to provide operational leadership, staff oversight, and regulatory compliance support within a hospital-based laboratory environment. This role is responsible for supervising daily laboratory operations, driving quality initiatives, and supporting staff development while maintaining high standards of patient care and regulatory excellence. This opportunity is ideal for senior Medical Technologists with prior supervisory experience who are ready to step into a hands-on leadership role. Responsibilities Supervise technical and non-technical laboratory staff, including scheduling and shift assignments. Oversee laboratory processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance across licensed technical areas. Supervise and/or participate in specimen collection, processing, and referral testing activities. Develop and maintain monitoring systems for quality assessment and performance improvement. Analyze quality data, initiate corrective action plans, and re-monitor outcomes for sustained improvement. Monitor resource utilization including staffing, payroll, supplies, expenses, and volume metrics. Participate in operational and financial performance reviews. Provide leadership in coaching, training, performance management, and professional development of staff. Screen, interview, and select qualified candidates for open laboratory positions. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and service excellence. Qualifications Required Associate Degree in Science or Medical Technology. Active Florida Laboratory Supervisor License. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care laboratory. Prior supervisory or lead-level experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Eligibility or licensure in at least three technical specialties. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field. Experience supervising multi-discipline hospital laboratory operations. Strong working knowledge of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.
