POSITION SUMMARY

The Laboratory Support Team Lead manages and coordinates a team of 10 Laboratory Support staff to ensure reliable, high-quality operational support for the pharmaceutical laboratory. This role combines leadership, planning, and compliance oversight with the ability to perform hands-on technical tasks when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in laboratory support operations under GMP.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a laboratory or technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory processes, safety, and quality standards.
  • Experience in workload planning and personnel development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work based on defined performance goals.
  • Maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values.
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus on delivering excellent customer service including always maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Use a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility beyond the normal business hours may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day laboratory support activities including equipment maintenance, solution preparation, material management, waste handling, and logistics.
  • Plan and prioritize workloads to meet laboratory timelines and operational requirements.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to maintain high performance and compliance with GMP, GSP, and safety procedures.
  • Perform laboratory support tasks as needed to ensure service continuity.
  • Monitor compliance with SOPs, hazard registers, safety data sheets, and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate external service schedules for calibration, maintenance, and inspection of laboratory equipment.
  • Act as primary point of contact for management, quality teams, and auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • KPI reporting and presentation to customers.
