We are looking for a creative and collaborative team member to join our research and development team as a Laboratory Technician. This role will be responsible assisting engineers and scientists in the construction and modification of lab scale membrane test equipment, as well as the carrying out of membrane characterization experiments. This role is ideal for a Laboratory Technician who is experienced in collecting data, running experiments, and troubleshooting experimental setups as well as experienced with design, problem solving and equipment maintenance. What You Will Be Doing Collaborating with multiple team members to analyze results and approaches to reach technical conclusions. Perform testing on membrane products to determine operating envelope and expected performance in real world use. Troubleshooting test rigs when equipment is not operating properly. Manufacturing of small lab scale membranes for testing. Helping others maintain a safe working environment. Maintaining a clean and organized work space. Communicating and presenting results internally at meetings and at external forums. Presenting scientific results to a diverse audience through data analysis and visualizations. What You Will Bring to the Table Creative and self-motivated; Excited about variety, non-routine tasks, and working on multiple projects as a member of several teams. Demonstrated ‘hands-on’ mechanical ability. Able to interpret and carry out Standard Operating Procedures and maintain clear, organized, and accurate written and computer records of designs, procedures, and test results. A minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or R&D role or a similar job. Bonus Points Experience with solvent use, safety reviews, gas chromatography. Small volume manufacturing experience, working with gas and liquid delivery systems, manufacturing technology or applications, coatings, polymer processing, chemical processing, AutoCAD, equipment maintenance and calibration, machine control, or laboratory and shop safety.
