We are a San Diego-based biotech company that provides primary cell cultures, specialized growth media, and cell biology products for research use worldwide. We are seeking a Growth Media Technician to join our production team.
The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality products with precision and consistency. Your work directly supports researchers at universities, biotechnology companies, and pharmaceutical organizations worldwide who rely on our products to advance biomedical research and drug discovery.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare basal media, growth media, growth supplements, buffers, and reagents according to established procedures.
- Perform sterile filtration, aseptic processing, and media bottling.
- Measure, adjust, and document pH, osmolality, and other required quality parameters.
- Label, package, and seal finished products.
- Perform quality control testing and maintain accurate production records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory.
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare laboratory glassware and equipment, including autoclave operation.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and replenish supplies as needed.
- Assist with continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and documentation.
Candidate Requirements
- B.S. degree in Cell Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
- One or more years of laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform aseptic laboratory techniques with good manual dexterity.
- Ability to perform laboratory calculations, including molarity, dilutions, percentages, concentrations, and related calculations.
- Working knowledge of standard laboratory practices, safety procedures, and laboratory equipment (pipettes, balances, pH meters, etc.).
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and detailed instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
