This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a Working with Children Check The successful candidate can apply for the WWCC as part of the onboarding process. Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provide Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to resource for technical support in (i) chemical management, (ii) safe chemical handling procedures including specialty areas such as scheduled poisons, dangerous goods, hazardous substances and gases, (iii) online chemical management systems, (iv) chemical waste management, (iv) analytical equipment operation, and laboratory practices.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Implement and maintain chemical safety protocols, conduct inspections, and stay informed about regulatory changes. Review and/or develop risk assessments, SOPs, chemical manifests and local area inductions.
  • Support Research and Teaching: Prepare for practical classes, design experiments, and assist with specialised equipment to facilitate academic activities.
  • Manage Laboratory Resources: Oversee and maintain inventory, chemical and equipment procurement, maintenance of equipment , conducting equipment trainings and inductions to ensure smooth operations.
