Job Introduction
Colas’ Technical Services department are responsible for ensuring our products are the highest quality before distributing to our external and internal customers. We’re looking for a Laboratory Technician, based in Rowfant, to support the department with daily operations.
Main Responsibilities
You will be involved in the effective and efficient running of the laboratory, always observing the safety policies of the company and the department. You will be responsible for the undertaking of general Technical Services work both in the laboratory and on site as required by the seasonal programme.
The role will involve ongoing training and assessment of competency which will then lead to you; planning and carrying out the testing and calibrating of equipment to relevant standards and procedures. You will also assist with the evaluation of the results, including reporting opinions and interpretations.
There will be other duties such as maintaining accurate records of all work carried out by the laboratory and assisting with keeping the laboratory in good order. All to be completed with mind to Colas commitment to safety and lowering environmental impact.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone that has a keen interest and working in science-based subjects especially Chemistry. You will also have excellent communication skills both written (formal/report) and spoken.
You will need to be confident, driven and adaptable for this role as you will have to travel, often at short notice, a driving licence is essential.
