You will team up with the Laboratory Manager and the Production Team to support the Quality Assurance initiatives of all products and services provided to customers.
You take responsibility for your personal health and safety and welcome the opportunity to collaborate with a similarly minded team who is completing their 18th consecutive year without a lost time accident.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or related discipline
  • Demonstrated laboratory and analytical abilities
  • Effective data trending, document control and technical bench skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, LIMS - Laboratory Information Management System
Responsibilities
  • You will complete lab procedures and simulations to monitor Quality and support new business development.
  • You will keep your workspace safe and be accountable for your personal health and safety.
  • You are familiar with Safety Data Sheets and follow proper handling procedures for all incoming raw materials and laboratory supplies/chemicals.
  • You follow industry standards and safety regulations for analyzing and handling:
    o Raw materials
    o Incoming waste
    o Manufactured products

o Test samples, including disposal

  • You are familiar with operating analytical instruments and addressing equipment deficiencies
  • Your time management and organizational skills will serve you well to:

o Receive/handle lab supplies
o Manage the collection, testing and safe keeping of samples for analysis by accredited third party laboratories
o Maintain an archive of retained samples

o Ensure the calibration program of analytical equipment is followed

  • Your innate team skills will be valued by the Quality Assurance Production team members to:

o Perform sampling and lab techniques that provide consistent quality outcomes
o Identify, recommend, and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives addressing Quality issues and Safety risks

o Adhere to environmental regulatory guidelines from federal, provincial, and local government levels

  • You are keen to contribute to other related projects and duties as required
