Laboratory Technician | $65,000 – $70,000 + Super | Permanent Full-Time

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to support our Head Microbiologist in a busy, hands-on laboratory environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail who enjoys structured, process-driven work and wants to build their career in microbiology and laboratory operations.

You'll play a key role in day-to-day lab activities — from manufacturing production batches and preparing culture media, to sample handling, equipment maintenance, and general lab support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and manufacturing of production batches according to established procedures
• Prepare, label, and handle samples for microbiological analysis, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability
• Perform routine cleaning, sterilisation, and calibration of laboratory equipment and workspaces
• Support data entry, report generation, and sample analysis under supervision
• Maintain accurate laboratory logs and records in line with company and regulatory standards
• Follow all safety, hygiene, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines
• Report any incidents or process deviations promptly

About You

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (minimum)
• Forklift licence highly regarded, but not essential
• Basic understanding of microbiological processes and lab safety
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, team-oriented, problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable working both independently and under supervision
• Able to lift and carry laboratory supplies/equipment (up to 20kg)
