Assured Micro has recently joined the Micronclean group, and was founded in Glasgow in 2009 to support customers who don’t have an in-house Microbiology department. Today, Assured Micro provides a range of integrated services to companies throughout Scotland and the North of England.
Micronclean is a family-owned business based in Lincolnshire employing over 400 people. The company provides products and services to various industries.
Our current focus areas include rental of specialist work wear to cleanroom industries (pharmaceutical, medical devices, aerospace), and of protective workwear to manufacturing industries (engineering, automotive). The company also manufactures and distributes a range of cleanroom products, which it sells in the UK and exports throughout Europe and further afield, including India, Australia, and Canada.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Background scientific training and / or experience in a field associated with microbiology.
  • Have laboratory experience and capabilities.
  • Have experience of GMP licenced facilities.
  • Good IT skills in the use of Microsoft office products.
  • A driver’s licence and mode of transport is essential for taking sample
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

To take responsibility for activities in our Glasgow-based laboratory, including routine/ad-hoc testing and laboratory administration, to provide microbiological laboratory testing.

Duties to include:

  • Administer, undertake and manage microbiological laboratory testing.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures and EU GMP regulations.
  • Undertake some Quality Investigations in support of the Lab Lead.
  • Interpret and inform stakeholders of results.
  • Contribute to client/regulatory audits as required.
  • Maintain full, accurate and retrievable laboratory records of testing.
  • Play a key role in interpreting and informing test results for the benefit of the business.
  • Propose, develop and deliver laboratory testing programs across all Assured Micro business activities.
  • Support problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives with technical knowledge and practical science.
  • Introduce innovative means of making laboratory systems more efficient and / or effective.
  • Compile/Review SOP’s and conduct Laboratory Validations, as required.
