About the role | Mō te tūranga: Our Christchurch laboratory is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join the Haematology team. This is a permanent, part-time position of 60 hours fortnightly within a department that performs a wide range of routine and specialist diagnostic testing using the latest automated systems. Key Responsibilities: Analyse blood samples in accordance with documented procedures. Report results in accordance with quality standards and client requirements. Ensure turnaround times are met, whilst maintaining quality and technical standards. Participate in quality, operational and efficiency improvement opportunities About you | He kōrero mōu To be successful in this role you need to have: Ability to absorb, evaluate, and respond to information and ideas in a positive manner. Highly motivated and driven with professional attitude. Ability to work well under pressure and safety and quality conscious. Ability to organise, prioritise and focus on daily work to meet turnaround times. Knowledge of veterinary, medical, or scientific terminology, advantageous but not essential. Degree or qualifications in a scientific discipline, preferably with experience in haematology, but not essential. Continuous improvement mind set. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills. Flexibility to work additional hours when required. Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
