Heikki Joensuu’s research group at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of a

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate has a Master of Science degree or Bioanalyst degree in a life-science-related field (e.g. medicine, biology, biochemistry), but applicable other degrees are also considered.

A strong background in one or more of the following areas will be looked upon favourably:

  • Mammalian cell culture
  • In vitro drug sensitivity assays
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Experience with mouse models is a plus

Your main tasks will include:

  • Culturing mammalian cancer cell lines
  • Treating cancer cells with drugs and measuring cell viability
  • Cutting sections from paraffin-embedded tumors and labeling proteins on these sections using immunohistochemistry

Applicants should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills in English.
The chosen applicant is expected to reside in Finland while employed by the University of Helsinki.
