BASIC PURPOSE: The Laboratory Technician will assist with the day-to-day testing of samples and upkeep of Roserock Testing Lab.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • HS Diploma required
  • AS or BS Chemistry preferred

Experience:

  • Experience in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in using laboratory instruments

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing
  • Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivation, good time management skills, ability to multitask and excellent analytical skills

  • Requires prolonged standing, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities
  • Conduct lab testing at OKC Laboratory of Retail Fuel samples/DEF Terminal samples, Jet-A samples, and Refinery Diesel samples.
  • Gain knowledge in using Elemental Analyzer, ICP, UV-Vis, Automated Titrator, Refractometer, Karl Fischer, Flash Point tester, IR, CP/PP/FP analyzer, CFPP analyzer, and Distillation Unit.
  • Gain knowledge of the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for logging and receiving samples
  • Review COA (Certificate of Analysis) for biodiesel, ethanol, and DEF daily
  • Routine instrument calibration
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory materials
  • General instrument maintenance and upkeep of laboratory
  • Other duties assigned as needed
