WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support coating and machining processes (e.g. aluminising, Pt plating, LVPS and APS plasma spray and PVD coatings, EDM/LASER, heat treatment, brazing, grinding and TIG welding
  • Attend project and technical meetings. Take actions and work with the wider RR and supplier team to progress these to a close.

  • Support RR internal specification update by liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Review and assess data cards for acceptability against the external and internal specifications.
  • Review method change request documentation. Provide technical risk assessment of the change and propose validation actions to mitigate risks.
  • Critically review and assess submitted data against the specification documents. Summarise this in technical report format to present conclusions and recommendations back to the submitter.
  • Occasional supplier visits will be required.
  • Lead the minimum standards assessment for special processes within the Bristol Turbines Laboratory.
  • Support heat treatment Lab special process owner tasks.
  • Support metallurgical assessments through the Bristol Turbines Laboratory.
  • Support NADCAP/Internal Audits and drive completion of non-conformance reports.
