Established in 2001, we are specialists in all aspects of microbiological testing for the Cosmetic & Personal Care industry. Due to expansion we now require a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our busy team.

At MSL we pride ourselves on excellent customer service, therefore the candidate will need high levels of organisation, concentration and accuracy in their work. This fast paced environment which requires someone with a logical, common sense approach who can display flexible thinking and initiative.

This role will involve mainly bench work, performing routine tests to ISO 11930 and equivalent standards. Practical aspects of work will involve pipetting and accurate weighing out of samples. Training will be provided however any previous experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment would be advantageous. There will also be a level of data entry and reporting of results.

Education

· Maths, English & Science GCSEs

· Preferably educated to Degree level or equivalent (Microbiology/Biology)

Essential skills

· Excellent organisation and time keeping

· Able to communicate ideas and problems clearly

· Confident in team work and independent work

· Good numerical skills

· Ability to work under pressure

· Previous laboratory experience

Advantageous Skills

· Understanding of International standards such as ISO 11181, ISO 11930

· PET testing

· QC testing

· Basic laboratory skills e.g. Pipetting/Weighing out accurately/ Microscopy

· ISO 9001

· Cosmetic Regulation/SCCS

· Understanding of Log reductions and calculations
