Description
Our System Integration & Validation (SIV) group leads the validation efforts for next-generation electro-optical devices and systems. NewPhotonics is revolutionizing data center processing with novel photonic engines that address power and performance challenges. We are looking for an SIV Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on supporting the SIV laboratory operations, maintaining top-edge test equipment (Optical, RF, DC), and assisting in the execution of validation campaigns for our PIC-based high-speed optical devices. What You’ll Be Doing • Identify and work with laboratory equipment, tools, supplies, and materials. • Support assembling optical and RF setups, connect Devices Under Test (DUTs), check power supplies. • Ensure the lab environment is organized, and equipment is properly calibrated and accounted for. • Perform basic lab equipment maintenance as scheduled and in accordance with lab / equipment manual specifications. • Keep equipment lists, connection diagrams, and setup info up to date, and write "how-to" notes for typical lab operations to ensure knowledge transfer. • Read, comprehend, and follow technical manuals and protocols. Requirements What We’re Looking For • Background in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory environment, preferably with electronics and optics. • Proficiency in operating lab equipment. • Ability to read and interpret block diagrams and technical documentation. • Ability to multitask effectively. • High attention to detail and the ability to follow precise testing methodologies. • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently. What Will Make You a Star Candidate • Experience with optical / RF / DC lab instruments. • Knowledge of optical transceivers / silicon photonics technology. • Experience in documenting technical procedures and maintaining equipment inventories.
