Come and join us in our state-of-the-art laboratory based at Mangere! We have a fantastic new opportunity for the Laboratory Technician - Sample Reception and Purchasing and be part of our fun-loving and dynamic team Quality and Food Safety team due to recent internal employee movement.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Sample Reception and Purchasing you will be part of the Laboratory team. The role will focus on achieving Danone Nutricia SN Quality & Food Safety objectives by processing laboratory samples and purchasing supplies for the laboratory in accordance with prescribed standards as well as making recommendations for continuous improvement.
This is full time position, working Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00am-3:30pm, 40 hours per week.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Collect and sort samples daily.
  • Follow approved processes, SOPs, and instructions for sampling of finished products and raw materials.
  • Sample raw material, semi-finished goods, and finished product samples as per submission sheet or sampling plan.
  • Log in samples promptly and accurately.
  • Apply aseptic sampling technique to perform all tasks related to sampling products.
  • Maintain sample receipt, sampling, and storage areas as per GMP/GLP/GHP/GDP requirements.
  • Be required to also lift a heavy samples.

Provide in-house and 3rd Party laboratories with accurately registered and clearly labelled samples.

  • Dispatch samples for testing at internal and 3rd Party Laboratories.
  • Manage retention samples as per SOP
  • Order and receive laboratory consumables
  • Create purchase order numbers and process laboratory invoices on time

About you
You are an experienced professional who thrives on cross-functional collaboration and excels with an inclusive working style. You will have a Diploma in Office Management & Administration or equivalent. You enjoy a mixture of physical work and working with administrative tasks. You will show great initiative to learn new skills while supporting the team.

To be successful in this role, you will a have:

  • Experience performing sample registration and sampling in a laboratory or production environment or Office administration/purchasing in a Laboratory environment desirable.
  • Time Management and Prioritizing
  • Strong interpersonal skills associated with developing trusting relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
