JOB DESCRIPTION

Quality Control Laboratory Technician (Seasonal) is responsible for execution of various microbiological analysis and reporting results during the busy season from March to OCtober. Additionally, the QC Lab Tech is required to support the Operational QC team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS SOUGHT

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field, or in process of obtaining one; professional certificates related to laboratory work, or a combination of education and experience in a related role is preferred
• Microbiology and laboratory knowledge
• Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control is an asset
• Familiarity with the field of food, production and HACCP standards are assets
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, Share point and Teams
• Available outside business hours
• Critical thinking and decision making
• Attention to detail
• Comfortable working alone
• Familiar with data integrity and confidential information
  Wage: $21.25/hou

• Collect, analyze, and report results for environmental monitoring program.
• Collect, analyze, and report results for finished product, work in process and raw materials.
• Laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Laboratory inventory counting, reporting, and forecasting.
• Inspect and report quality of raw materials (baby lettuce, vegetables, ingredients)
• Complete shelf-life assessments and reporting results.
• Special projects (e.g., Research and development, investigations, validations).
• Ensure employee compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Perform other related duties.
