Good literacy, team playing, attention to detail and initiative are required. Full training is provided. This is not a FIFO position. Responsibilities will include, however are not limited to: Maintain detailed and accurate records pertaining to sample submission, sample preparation process and achieving sample turnaround time. Operating instruments in relevant department. ICP-MS/OES, MP-AES, AAS, Photon Assay Fairly delegate tasks to the team of sample preparation and laboratory assistants daily Monitor and assist with productivity of the laboratory and ensure all samples are progressing through the laboratory in a timely manner Ensure that samples are organized and arrange for return of samples and waste materials to clients (if required) in a timely manner and following the correct procedures Qualifications As the successful candidate you will have: Professional qualifications in chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience Experience in laboratory work, sample preparation and chemical knowledge Basic understanding of computer applications Understanding of acid extraction methods and recognition of sample types Understanding Analytical procedures Understanding of fire assay operation and laboratory techniques Demonstrated experience in administration Competent in using CCLAS LIMS Additional Information WHY WORK FOR SGS?
