Job Description
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Type: Temporary (12 months)
Hours: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4pm
Job Location: Manchester
Salary: £25, 397 - £26,000
As a Laboratory Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing sampling of protective coatings in accordance with appropriate approved test procedures, international standards and within customer requirements to ensure effective throughput for ongoing projects. You will also perform round robin analysis ensuring any failures are recorded and investigated with appropriate action taken.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES;

  • Undertake sample preparation and analysis of samples in accordance with appropriate analytical test procedures, to ensure that samples are tested in accordance with client requirements.
  • Process samples within turnaround times agreed with both our internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Undertake daily logging activities of ongoing tests to ensure delivery of allocated daily tasks within defined timescales to maximise operational outputs and efficiencies.
  • Report equipment/ instrumentation failure to senior staff member to execute remedial action and thereby ensure continuity of service.
  • Develop an appreciation and understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment to assure minimum quality and health and safety requirements to ensure prompt turnaround on sample analysis..
    Qualifications
    To be successful in this role, you’ll need a science background, ideally in polymer science, chemistry, mechanical engineering or corrosion engineering. You will have strong organisation skills with the ability to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment,
