Our clinic is looking for Vet Laboratory Technician to join our medical team.

Perform/operate blood tests on automatic blood analyser (Electrolytes, Biochemistry SNAP and Haematology machines) Manual Packed Cell Volume, blood cell counts and WBC differential counts
Perform microscopy of skin, ear and hair samples; identification of parasites etc. Perform urinalysis, and interpret sediment slides
Bacteriology - including Salmonella, e-coli and sensitivity, plate onto agar plates & reading results Faecal analysis to check for worm eggs and Cocci in equine and farm samples, calf scour checks when necessary
Internal and External Quality control on all machines in the laboratory to retain accreditation. Ordering all lab consumables for manual and clinical procedures.
Reporting laboratory results to the case veterinary surgeon and recording on the patient’s clinical file Daily cleaning of the laboratory, including work surfaces and sinks, emptying of clinical waste and recycling.
Monthly deep cleaning of the laboratory including fridges, defrosting freezer and cleaning cupboards and equipment Liaising with Line Manager to uphold high standards of Health and Safety and maintenance of the laboratory and equipment Full training will be given
